UPDATE 8/4/2017 11:00 AM
Since our last session was canceled due to weather, we are tentatively rescheduling to Saturday, August 5, 10:00 AM, at Thornell Farm Park. Stay tuned for updates.
Summer is here! We are running a 2-week summer program for girls who just completed grades 1 through 4, regardless of experience. The summer program will consist of practices and possibly 1 or 2 games against teams from other towns. The program will be run by Ashton Maaraba and several assistants. As with all of our youth programs, the focus is on fun, development, and a positive experience.
We are going to teach the girls how to be involved, how to have fun, and how to compete. At the same time, we will emphasize how to challenge each other in a friendly and safe style play-date. Returning players should emerge from the clinic a stronger player. New players should begin to understand the fundamentals that contribute to quality play.
Each girl will adopt skills that will help them thrive, build self-esteem and gain a level of confidence in a safe and fun environment. The clinic is tailored to involve every player, and to positively reward each one for simply being involved and having fun.
We will focus on the following skills:
- Passing and Catching
- Ground Balls
- Ball Movement and Offensive Rotation
- General Fun Activity and Play
